Credible reports as of early August 2026 (MacRumors and others) point to these headline changes: an A20 Pro chip on TSMC's first 2nm process, Apple's new C2 modem with 5G satellite connectivity, a new N2 Wi-Fi/Bluetooth chip, a smaller Dynamic Island (the Face ID flood illuminator reportedly moves under the display), and more efficient LTPO+ displays at the same 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch sizes.

The important catch for buyers: multiple reports say the 18 Pro will see a US price increase of roughly $200–300 — research firm TrendForce now estimates ~$1,399 for the 256GB Pro, with component costs reported up ~40% and memory alone ~34% of the bill of materials. Kuo additionally reports Apple is cutting 2026 shipment volumes over the DRAM shortage, so early stock may sell out in pre-orders — which feeds directly into the Pakistani price estimates below. Apple has now officially confirmed its September 9, 2026 event for the Pro models plus its first foldable (the iPhone Ultra) — the standard iPhone 18 is reportedly delayed to spring 2027.
